One of the topmost paradoxes in my life is ‘QUALITY’.

Quality — a pusher & a puller both at the same time!

On the one hand, whenever I am in the middle of something important, the idea of ‘quality over quantity’ helps me prioritize things and give my maximum input. It moves me from inside to ‘do more and more’.

Thus, it acts as a ‘pusher’ for a better outcome.

On the other hand, the same caution of ‘quality’, in its net effect, keeps me from effectively and timely acting upon my own plans. It makes me a ‘confused-idealist’ who takes way more time to finalize things than is required.

So, it also acts like a ‘puller’ for me, slowing me down in my pursuits.

Let me explain by sharing with you a relevant real-life experience.

What happened is that, I have been writing on Quora since January 2018. There, I started off with my first answer on the very first day of joining Quora. And since then, things have been going quite well for me.

Later, after spending two good years on Quora I heard about Medium, felt intrigued, and made an account. At the time, I was immensely under the effect of my writing experience at Quora. So, from the very beginning, I aspired to give Medium nothing but, My-Best-Shot.

Now I would be honest, my journey as a writer on Quora began before I could actually feel much about the well-known Q&A website, and before I could take any pressure of creating quality content.

Whereas, when I joined Medium I was overwhelmed. I was extremely determined to do better on Medium than what I have been doing at Quora.

However, despite being pushed forward by my urge to create quality content at Medium, I have also been pulled back by it. And after one whole year of joining Medium, I am yet to press ‘Publish’ for any of my drafts here.

Ironically, my focus on ‘quality’ has been a double-edged sword that has been cutting whatever I have tried to produce on Medium. And I have left with nothing produced.

To conclude; I have learned my lesson.

I have reviewed this draft to the best of my abilities and I am publishing this as my first ever post on Medium.

I have understood that both ‘the push’ and ‘the pull’ of quality are important. And they must always be balancing each other.
